When I was younger, all I wanted for Christmas was “NOW That’s What I Call Music: 8.” Mind you, this was before I had ever heard of an MP3 player, and much less an iPhone. Today, commercials try to boggle my younger siblings into asking for “NOW That’s What I Call Music: 39,” for Christmas. This makes me wonder, are there going to be 39 plus different versions of the iPhone? When does the new iphone come out?
At the moment, I am not sure. However, I am certain that there will be at least five versions.
We are not too far past the release of the iPhone 4, however, the antsy nature of many modern-day consumers has them asking already…”when does the new iphone come out?” (To be fair, a more accurate representation is “when does the new iphone come out?” “when does the new iphone come out?” “when does the new iphone come out?” “when does the new iphone come out?”)
Although it is pretty clear that Apple is in the process of developing an iPhone 5, the exact release date is not something to be completely sure of. Apple and its affiliates have done a stellar job of keeping their consumers slightly in the dark. In addition, it is unclear whether the next release will actually be an iPhone 5, or simply an iPhone 4S.
The price of the fourth generation model dropped in August which some consider to be a hint that the new version is soon to arrive. In addition, AT&T supposedly heightened their number of staff and placed a ban on staff holidays.
These are just a couple more signs that consumers are reading into and using to try to decipher when the gadget will debut. In addition, these clues can be considered proof that Apple has something in the works for all of us techno-addicts.
Rumor has it that the new version of the well-loved gadget may come out as soon as September of 2011. I am placing my bets on late September. However, the release date of the anticipated update is not nearly the most fascinating of the subjects being run through the grapevines. What is far more intriguing is the varying aspirations that consumers have for the new model.
Some of the features that consumers are hoping to see on the new model include an eight megapixel camera and a dual-core A5 processor. This processor is the same as the one that currently supports the functions of Apple’s iPad 2.
Some consumers are excited for a faster processor for texting ladies, and some simply want their Angry Birds to load a little bit faster. No matter who you are, a faster processor in the next iPhone would likely benefit you in some way. Technology advances quickly. Consumers have grown to cherish speed.
With some absolutely convinced that the new iPhone will house a different processor, others believe that it will only be home to a new operating system. Some names being dropped are iOS 5 and iCloud. Generally, preference of operating systems are just that– preference.
Other rumors disagree with both of those theories. Many believe that the fifth-generation iPhone will not boast a new processor OR a new operating system. Some believe that the new model will sport a different look- possibly a curved back.
Another glammed-up version that is being talked about is a white, primarily glass model. However, most of these fashionable new looks that eager consumers are dreaming up are just anxious shots in the dark.
Speculation certainly is not scarce. With many consumers drooling over the new iPhone, nothing is certain as of yet. Nothing is ruled out as of yet, either.
However, one thing is certainly true– new versions of iPhones are much more exciting to look forward to than new versions of NOW CD’s.
